Analog Notes No. 2
Wednesday Musings
Analog Notes is a midweek pause in the noise. A small letter from my desk—what I’m reading, making, and noticing as I slow down and live a little more off-screen.
Midweek reminder to allow yourself to rest when you feel like trash. These are the small things feeding my soul right now:
1. What I’m Reading
The One That Got Away by Olivia Spring started off hot from the first sentence. I was not ready, but I am so glad I am reading this book. It is funny and just the kind of romance I want to read this time of year. Predictable? I don’t care, let me have this!
2. What I’m Making
Soups with bone broth. I was feeling violently ill this past weekend and all I wanted was warm soups and beverages. I found many ways to enhance a basic bone broth with seasonings and now I am hooked.
3. What’s Feeding My Joy
The Five Minute Journal. I have always wanted to give this journal a try and happened to find one a few months ago. Spending a few moments focused on gratitude has been the best five minutes at the beginning and end of my day. I am not always consistent with it, but I do notice a difference in my mood and attitude when I am.
Holiday Cactus. I have always loved this plant, but never had much success keeping them alive until I realized the way to get them to bloom multiple times a year is to leave them alone. I picked up a new one with this lovely light pink collection of blooms. It looks so good next to my larger cactus with its hot pink blooms.
4. A Thought Worth Keeping
What people think of you is none of your business.
5. From the Archives
A good reminder as we close out the calendar year, Be delusional and live your most audacious life.
Tiny Things I Loved
– Eating Sock It To Me cake.
– Listening to Jean Dawson’s Glimmer of God. An excellent music recommendation from one of my music friends.
– Reading The Korean Vegan Homemade book by Joanne Lee Molinaro.
Until next time, stay curious and keep something this week just for yourself.

I swear, the five-minute journal is one of the best things I've ever purchased. And now I want a sock it to me cake!
